This week’s WTF? Friday Moment Brought to You By: “Clean Coal!”
I did a quick Google search for a project I’m working on and this is what appeared when I typed in “clean energy non profit”:
I’ll save you the trouble of typing in the url. The site is run by the American Coalition for Clean Coal Electricity (ACCCE), who, apparently, “advocates for public policies that advance environmental improvement, economic prosperity and energy security.” Which is a nice, ambiguous way to say, “we like pretending that coal is clean and that mining doesn’t destroy mountains, we like to tout the very dangerous work of mining and other jobs related to coal extraction, and we convince Americans that coal is the only option.”
And, yes, I realize the link that appeared is not a search result but an ad–which is why I hate marketing sometimes.
